PIA has been owned and operated by the Hammack family for over 60 years. First established by Sterling L. Hammack, Jr. in 1958, the company was reincorporated by Sterling and his wife, Paula, in 1972. Paula created the PIA Affiliate Program in 1985 to assist the success of other agents.

Today, Paul Hammack, an expert in small commercial business insurance and workers compensation, leads the company and maintains its tradition of excellent service. He is a member of numerous insurance company advisory boards and actively advocates for the industry to leverage technology to the benefit of clients.
